Student Recruitment Plan 2011-2012 revisited

Based in Europe, focused on the world. This is the positioning statement of UM under the flag of "Leading in Learning.

At the heart of Europe one finds few students from outside the continent. In 2010/11 thirtyfour youngsters in SBE's Bachelor's student population and ninetyseven in the Master's populus originate from Non EU/EER countries. Together they make roughly 5% of the total student population at SBE. Far off from the 30% target. Among students the gender gap is as high as the targets and realities of its efforts to "focus on the world" are divided. It is needless to say that authenticity is not what the targets bring to the strategy but what realities bring to students. Seeing them as customers instead of products is like seeing them as active cocreators of knowledge rather than empty vessels to be filled with information. PBL's as methodology demands what marketing  identifies as "customer service". The student is not a population but demands to be treated as individual while their expecations are no longer something to be preformed but in the need to be managed.

The report is here.
