The Rise Of MOOCS - Education's Napster Moment

MOOCS are "massive open online courses". Rattling traditional learning, Coursera has signed up 33 universities to offer more than 200 online courses to 2.2m users for free... Keystroke biometrics is key feature to verifying that students are doing their work and don't cheat... Mooc can have work assessed, either by automated quizzes or classmates... This allows the platforms to issue certificates to confirm course completion...Online educators build up revenues by licensing content or introducing employees to top students...The American Council on Education said it would consider five to 10 Moocs for certification, allowing them to count towards degrees.

Online course of Leiden University on Coursera

Apparently, already 10 000 students registered for the online lectures (on the Law of the European Union) of Leiden University. And every week, another 1000 students are registering. The course will start in May.
